All things New Year's!


Happy New Year!

I can't believe it's a new year! New Year's always sneaks up on me.  Beginning with Thanksgiving, the end of the year is just a whirlwind!  With all the craziness of shopping, decorating, holiday parties, wrapping, and family get togethers, I just get caught up in all that is going on and before I know it, it's January! Anyway, I hope that this year is your best yet!

Goals vs. Resolutions

Now that it's a new year, the custom is to set resolutions that will help you to better yourself or your life.  My husband said we should set goals not resolutions.  He said we should decide what we want to work towards and stick to it.  That got me thinking that I didn't really know what the difference was between a resolution and a goal.  The definition of a resolution is a firm decision to do or not do something while a goal is a desired result. This leads me to believe that we need to set resolutions in order to achieve our goals! For instance, if your goal is to lose weight in the new year, then your resolution could be to exercise for 30 minutes per day.  But, the resolution you make must not be just something you will try to do, it's a FIRM decision to do or not do something.  I hope this distinction helps me this year to stick to the steps I have chosen to help me reach my goals!  

So that being said, what are your resolutions that will help you achieve the goals you have set for yourself?  Here are a few of mine:

1. Drink more water.  If you know me, you know this is a BIG deal.  I only drink Dr. Pepper, however, I know that in order to reach my goal of being healthier this year,  I need to drink less Dr. Pepper and more water.

2.  Make healthier food choices.  This will also be hard for me as I am a sugar addict!

3.  Purge and Organize.  This one is going to be ongoing and super hard work all year long!  We have so much stuff and this is long overdue!

I just want to thank you all for supporting me in this new business this year! I'm so excited to see what the new year brings and I have a whole other set of business goals and resolutions so get ready for some great new things!  Go enjoy your day and don't forget to eat your black eyed peas and sauerkraut!
